Aluminum scrap, which is formed from aluminum wrought and cast goods when the metal is processed by fabricators into consumer or industrial items, is the most effective and useful material in the recycling process. Aluminum scrap is frequently divided into "new scrap" resulting from manufacturing operations and "old scrap" resulting from post-consumer use.
